n ideal diet should contain different types of food selected from Seeds Nuts and Grains / Vegetables / Fruits, and supplemented with unrefined vegetable oils (two tablespoons a day), milk, honey - nature's finest energy giving food (helping in calcium retention in the system, preventing nutritional anaemia, beneficial in kidneys and liver disorders, poor circulation etc). This, generally, will ensure a complete and dequate supply of all the vital nutrients needed for health, vitality and prevention of diseases. Since most of us in this modern days do not indulge in much physical activities during our life, it is better to eat food that supplies needed health energy for living rather than indulging in fad foods for the sake of "being in-fashion". Necessarily stay away from junk food like Cola flavoured drinks / White flour products / Cream rools, chocolates / candies / snacks / chips / food drinks / fast foods etc.

Eat small meals more times a day than large meals two times a day. This prevents overeating and over-functioning of digestive system. According to the biological clock where a given organ shows maximum activity for a two-hour period in twenty four hour cycle, the three organs responsible for digestion, stomach-liver-pancreas, function best in the morning from 7a.m., 9a.m., and 9a.m. to 11a.m. respectively. Threfore, having the main meal of the day in the morning is beneficial and eat less for lunch and least for dinner, to facilitate easier digestion and assimilation.

Our mental attitude also influences the relationship of diet and health. The more anxious we are, the more vitamins we need, while a carefree contended life is more conducive to health with a vegetarian diet. Remember, food has great psychological effects. A perturbed mind cannot cherish any food, cannot get transmutation occuring in liver.

Yin and Yang do balance each other, but they do not neutralize each other. If sickness is caused by Yin, body tries to compensate by increasing the Yang qualities, but it may not cure, it can give enhanced Yin-Yang polarity but cause great stress. In chronic disease there is serious Yin-Yang imbalance, there may be equal Yin and Yang but they are in the wrong places.

Diet plays a major vital role in giving us stress and disease or allowing us to live easily and only we have the final say in deciding what goes or what does not go into our stomach. Only we can control the pollution in our stomach unlike other pollutions like air pollution, noise pollution, water pollution, chemical pollution, synthetic chemical pollution, emotional pollution etc., which all have external factors to a large extent controlling them.
