hoice
of the mantra is extremely important because the greatest
success lies with the mantra to which you can best surrender.
There is a specific mantra for each person i.e. their Ishta
Mantra. There are many ways in which a mantra may be chosen.
Ideally, you can chant a mantra to which you simply feel drawn
and naturally attracted. Having chosen your mantra, stay with
it until you have had some experience of its power. Resist
the temptation to change to another one, thinking perhaps
you made the wrong choice. It is most difficult to be completely
quiet because we seem to be forever in the company of all
these imprints which the mind has stored and turns out at
random. To face this, you can trick the mind into concentrating
by a variety of techniques which vary the monotony without
essentially changing the focus, by allowing the mind to be
active within the framework of your chosen mantra. Initially
changing the focus, by allowing the mind to be active within
the framework of your chosen mantra. You can also speed up
the tempo of your chanting, including a greater number of
repetitions within the span of one breath. Then slow down
the tempo, extending the name or syllabus. Vary the sound
from loud, to very soft and gentle. This kind of variation
can keep your mind interested while still being involved in
the repetitions. After a while, you will find that you are
repeating this all the time in your day/life, while you are
doing something or not doing anything, the mantra becomes
a part of you or you become a part of the mantra.
To
use mantras for self healing/for others, it is very essential
that one must be very regularly doing Pranayama and Meditation.
This is needed, so that our thoughts do not wander and for
proper pronunciation, there is regular deep breathing. Then
practice chanting the particular mantras regularly (at least
108 times daily) till you can experience the energy of mantra.
Only then use it. There are a number of Sanskrit mantras which
are used popularly to cure various types of ailments. One
can comfortably use the beej sounds of chakras while working
for healing on various chakras and associated organs, systems,
glands, emotions and behaviour.
It
is to be noted that the mantras have to be repeated certain
number of times daily for a certain period, for it to start
having effect and to be used regularly for oneself and for
others.
Namotherapy
today is a research fascination for many around the world.
Researches have confirmed that the ultrasonic components in
the mantras, if properly uttered for the number of times,
have tremendous healing effects in almost every kind of ailments.
Ultrasound is a propagated mechanical disturbance in wave
form through a medium. If the medium is a person, this wave
forms the basis of diagnosis and treatment. In Namotherapy,
the mantras used emit ultrasonic waves of different wavelengths
and frequencies, so the japa (frequent repetition in a particular
rhythm) of a mantra produces a collection of point source
of ultrasonic waves, each with its spherical wave font transmitted
into the medium needing it, which may be humans, animals,
plants and the atmosphere sound. This is the effect of regular
satsangs and effect of healing through collective prayers.
